At Riverside Federation, we believe that Design and Technology is an inspiring, challenging and practical subject which can bring learning to life. We encourage our pupils to use creativity and imagination to design and make products that solve problems within a variety of contexts. We have developed our curriculum from the DT Associations ‘Projects on a Page’ and use this to plan, organise and deliver Design and Technology to all pupils in years 1-6. 

We understand that Design and Technology allows our pupils to acquire a broad range of subject knowledge in other areas such as Mathematics, Science, Engineering, Computing and Art. Design and Technology gives our pupils the opportunity to develop their skills through collaborative working which helps to instil respect. 

Our curriculum is cyclical which allows our pupils the opportunity to develop their skills in planning, designing, making and evaluating whilst developing knowledge in areas such as food, mechanical systems or textiles.
