PSHE
PSHE – Personal, social and health education - includes RSE (relationships and sex education) and is a key part of each child’s wider development in school. We believe that it is an important subject as it provides pupils the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to manage their lives, now and in the future.
In our schools, PSHE lessons are always delivered by the class teacher as they are the person who has the strongest relationship with their class, and trust is particularly important in PSHE. We want children to talk openly and honestly about their feelings, emotions, ideas and opinions so they can grow as respectful individuals.
Much of the work in PSHE is through shared stories or videos, discussion and debate. These lessons cover key areas, which are repeated throughout the phase groups, each time building on the children’s prior knowledge and experience.
